Message from Professor Gemma Stacey – Deputy CEO
Please accept our very warm welcome to your Florence Nightingale Leadership Programme. This document outlines all the key information you will need to make the most of this opportunity. It includes the learning outcomes for the overall programme and each individual session.
Our unique new leadership development programme is for senior nurses and midwives with an interest in or responsibility for the sustainability agenda.
The three-day residential programme, in a remarkable setting in Cornwall, offers an immersive learning experience to develop leadership identity, capacity, and capability and to take sustainable change back to your organisation. Delegates will connect with nature and leave with the tools to influence and transform the sustainability agenda in their work setting, as well as a renewed sense of clarity, balance, and motivation.
You can expect:
- plenty of time in the great outdoors
- expert facilitation
- time to contemplate and refocus
- digital detox
- increased self-awareness
- heightened emotional intelligence
- regenerated personal energy
Participants in our leadership programmes report the “life changing” leadership experience and its professional and personal impact. They feedback about feeling better able to influence improvements in patient care and health outcomes. The course can be funded using your organisation’s CPD budget.
Regenerate yourself and your leadership!
Participants will also join the FNF alumni community and receive ongoing networking and leadership development opportunities through events, webinars, media engagement and policy thought leadership.
Programme Manager – Sharon Thomas
Academy Coordinator – Afia Julius

The Florence Nightingale Foundation (FNF) is an anti-racist organisation. It firmly believes in the inherent worth and dignity of every individual and is committed to opposing all forms of racism and discrimination. We recognise that racism has a long and painful history, the legacy of which continues to leave deep scars on our society. To create a more equitable future, we must first acknowledge the past and learn from it.
