Preceptorship Pulse Check: 2025

Welcome

We are conducting a national survey to understand the current landscape of preceptorship programmes across the UK. This builds on the Florence Nightingale Foundation’s previous work to promote and ensure access to high-quality preceptorship support for health and care professionals.

We are seeking input from three key groups:

  1. Student nurses and midwives
  2. Early career nurses and midwives – defined as all those who have joined the NMC register in the past 5 years (please note that we are counting internationally educated registrants in this group too if they joined in the past 5 years, regardless of when they initially qualified overseas)
  3. Preceptors, preceptorship leads, or preceptorship champions  – We want to hear from all those who currently, or recently, held any of these roles.

Your insights will help us evaluate how preceptorship programmes have evolved and identify areas where additional support or resources may be needed. The survey should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete, and all responses will remain anonymous. Once you start, if you need to, you can always save your progress and resume taking the survey at your convenience.

Please complete the survey by January 28th, 2025. Your participation will contribute to shaping the future of preceptorship support across the UK health and care system.
